A necklace to hold used chewing gum in, a self pouring teapot, the Magna Carta and Shakespeare’s mortgage deed, were among some of the exhibits CIG members were invited to see by the British Library last Tuesday. A tour and presentation were given, first of the Public Treasures Gallery followed by the Business and IP centre. Members of CIG, including Katy Crosse, Lee Seymour and Claire Valentine from TFPL, all enjoyed finding out what research facilities the British library held, whilst chatting to other members and enjoying some wine and nibbles. It was also good to hear that gaining a library pass for the reading rooms was now a lot more accessible. An enjoyable, memorable and pleasant event, promoting the Library as the valuable and facilitating resource it is.
